You'll be given a unique opportunity to develop all-round experience in the nuclear decommissioning, radioactive waste management and disposal industry. You'll work in small teams alongside world-class experts and be given ample opportunities to develop expertise and grow into the role early in your career.

 

You'll have the opportunity to provide services to clients on an international basis and deliver high-quality research while building and maintaining strong client and project team relationships.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver & support on quality technical projects or in a timely cost-effective manner, in accordance with regulations and internal procedures.
  • Deliver written work and research on a wide range of industry, regulatory and policy projects in the UK and overseas.
  • Present research and findings to clients, and or workshops where necessary.
  • Project management in accordance with company standards and guidelines (training provided).

Essential requirements:

  • PhD or MSc in quantitative earth sciences, applied mathematics, physics, chemistry or engineering, or you'll hold a BSc alongside relevant experience.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work with excellent attention to detail within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills, using English language.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Radioactive waste management planning/options assessment, disposal, nuclear safety and related fields, potentially with experience at nuclear sites.
  • Modelling, particularly with respect to site characterisation, groundwater flow, gas transfer, and/or contaminant transport in geological media (e.g. GoldSim, COMSOL).
  • Familiarity with criticality safety assessments; radiological risk assessment; and/or environmental safety case development.
  • Project and contract management experience.
  • Coding skills (e.g. Python, C++).
